The GED test is an exam with the sole purpose to replace the high school diploma meant specifically for those who do not have one. While the American Council on Education (ACE) is the official resource for the GED and defines this acronym as General Educational Development another common definition is General Equivalency Diploma. No matter what you call it, GED preparation is essential when it comes to passing the test. For individuals who haven't been in a classroom for years, the subject matter may be difficult. Difficult, but not impossible to learn by any means.

Tailoring your study habits and practice to your personality and learning style can go far in the educational process. In addition to practice tests and lots of studying, you must register for the test before you will be permitted to take it.
